Hi , my name is Deidre Cronin Hedmark. I am a transplanted Baby Boomer from New York and having spent all my childhood summers in Harwich, I, along with my husband Kurt, our son Dylan and our three daughters Erika, Kimberly and Nicole, all of whom are teens now, have made Harwich our home for 18 years.
Harwich is a wonderful place to raise your children. All four of my children have been in the Harwich School System since kindergarten. My son Dylan, was a player on the Harwich Rough Riders Basketball Team for 4 years, and a National Honor Society Member. He is now attending Boston University. Erika, is a senior at Harwich High and plays field hockey, track, and tennis. She also is a member of the National Honor Society. My twin daughters, Kimberly and Nicole are sophomores at Harwich High and both play field hockey and basketball. All four are active in community service, especially in the preservation of the beaches here in Harwich.
My husband Kurt is an established Artist and a General Contractor here in Harwich. We actually met in France while he was teaching Art at the L’Ecole des Beaux Arts near Avignon- that was 20 years ago! We enjoy finding properties that need updating and Kurt does the majority of the renovations to get the house ready for re-sell.
Real Estate is my profession. After several years serving my clients and customers in the New York City and Westchester County areas, I moved to Harwich and got the best of both worlds with an active real estate market and the benefits of beach,sun,surf and the fellowship of wonderful neighbors. Having been a professional Realtor here in Harwich for 18 years, I have been a consistent multi-million dollar top producer. Recently, I was awarded the 100 Percent Club Award by Realty Executives, an honor which is given to agents who are top producers.

I moved to Cape Cod in 1973 from Natick, Mass. (just west of Boston) and never looked back. My family and I built our Cape Cod house on Buck's Pond in Harwich in 1981 and became full-time Harwich residents in 1997. I love lake-side living, but go to see the ocean every day.
Like most real estate agents, I had a prior professional life. After Boston College I started my 30+ year career in software engineering. I was a telecommuter and e-mail user in 1971, published Software Quality World magazine, gave seminars throughout the U.S. and Europe, was a VP at Fidelity Investments, and consulted at the New York Stock Exchange, M.I.T., and HP.
Not a typical background for a real estate agent, BUT, actually quite useful. To manage, consult, and train you have to love working with people—a key to the real estate business. Successful management of $50,000,000 projects with scores of people is also a critical skill--especially in the all-important second half of the real estate process—getting from a signed offer all the way to closing. Still proud to be a computer geek (although I prefer Austin to Asimov) my technical skills are a great advantage in this time of exploding real estate computer technology.
